it's not complete, but it's mine.
i'm in the process of moving into a new blog site, combining this blog and my photo blog into one.
so far there's a header and a post...and that's it!
it's not much, but you're welcome to go and check it out!
you can find me from now on at my new home.

making plans.
It's been awhile since I've posted...I've been mad at my blogger.
I'm out of photo room for the 15th time and I don't want to delete anymore old photos from posts just to fit the new ones on. Soooo... I'm lookin' at moving out of blogger and into wordpress. More specifically, moving into ProPhoto blogs.
While I despise charging people for photos, I still want to do shoots. I haven't worked out the details yet, mostly because I'm so indecisive, but I do know that I am wanting to take my photos up a notch. I have no desire to be a big photographer, just a better one. I have a friend working on a logo for me, I've finally purchased my new equipment(thanks to my husband), and I've been looking at new packaging/products, etc.
Hopefully you will see an update for a new site soon!

father's day weekend.
we rushed home from vbs/day camp on thursday.
we're talking full blown running through the parking
lots, questionable speeds on the way home...
technically they're only questionable because our speedometer doesn't work.
haha.
totally worth a ticket if i had gotten one.
we had a party with daddy.
a tea party.
we chatted til 1am his time.
during our time, emily turned to me and said, "mom, at day camp today we talked about 'bathtizing'." oh, i about died laughing. i'm so glad justin got to hear that conversation.
we just finished week 2 of vbs this summer.
week 1(last week)was at west evangelical free.
i did the cheese head's senior photos. :)
week 2 was at pathway. at the end of the week, we had the kid's program and fun night at church.
granny and papa came and we gave papa his gift
for father's day.
aiden had picked out a star wars card..that talked.
saturday, we joined other families of deployed soldiers at tanganyika for a free outting. the kids loved it.
i fed the lorikeets and emily took photos. she did good!
hope your father's day weekend was just as wild as ours!

that dog.
oh, that dog.
i told the boy to take her with him,
but as you can see,
she's still here.
blasted beast.
i'd like to take credit for this shot,
but my 6 yr old was the one holding the camera. she does a good job. :)
okay, so maybe the dog isn't so bad...when she's not attacking me and needing a bath.
thanks to my little paparazzi in training
for the photo help.

star wars & mexico.
i had a very happy little boy this afternoon.
he finally got to see the star wars exhibit at
the exploration place.
i used both my camera and the phone camera for
the star wars room.
he wasn't a super fan of being this close to the wampa.
emily screamed and refused to get close to it at all. haha.
the kids enjoyed seeing their father, darth vader,
there, too. :)
sand people...another one emily wouldn't get near.
there was a hovercraft deal that they "drove" for about a minute and a half(thankfully aiden is 5 now so he could ride it!). aiden had to wear em's shoes, though, cause his were open toe. he didn't mind those pink shoes too much.
mexico came to town, too.
last week our friend ashley had asked about going
to the park...and then it rained that day.
so we took she and her son, andre, with us
to exploration place.
they're in town for a month or so from cancun
(no, they don't live on the beach).
her husband will be flying up here soon to join them.
we hit up orangeleaf afterwards for some frozen yogurt.
it was super hot and gross out.
andre was tired and wanted to hug everyone.
he was so cute. aiden told me after we got home that "andre was speaking spanish or something, mom!"
hahaha!
emily hooked us up with a few photos, though this was the only one that was "mother approved". :)

paint & water
today was more of a free day. they did do some writing practice, read some books, and drew pictures, but it was more of their choice than mine. they played outside the whole morning. my poor neighbors...i hope they were already up at 8:30 am.
water guns came out early today, too, so they had their lunch outside on the step.
i tried a different sidewalk paint today. i usually just grab a piece of sidewalk chalk and crush it in a ziplock baggie til it's nothing but powder. i get a lot of aggression out that way. :)
today i used a recipe i found on pinterest.
2 T cornstarch
4 T water
drops of food coloring
we did about 6 batches of this the first time we painted,
8 the second time.
i split the liquid up into 3 cups before adding the food coloring.
we now have painted concrete in the front & the backyard.
i found that the paint looked really cool on the grounded when it was dripped/splattered. however, aiden also liked it...and i forgot there was food coloring in the mix...
his arm is a little stained now. and his white shirt. and emily's dress, though she did that herself, not him.
we also had a water balloon toss. they wanted to do a water balloon war, but and convinced them to hold off until they had cousins over to do that with. a war is not chasing your brother around until he falls on the concrete and scrapes his legs up...and comes crying to me...this happens every time.
did i mention that these kids cannot catch to save their lives? haha. those balloons were flopping all over the ground.
some dropped a few times and never popped.
however, the last few popped on aiden and completely soaked him.
