air show.

today the whyte house ventured out

to the mcconnell base air show.

blogger has changed the picture loading

system, so none of these are in the

correct order.

i'm sure i could rearrange them,

but i'm entirely too tired for that. :)

i will just narrate, instead.

 the boy was not a fan of the noisy planes.  there was a lot ear covering going on.  the photo above is justin telling him it was okay to remove the 'earmuffs'..not that he heard him or anything.

 the moon bounce...crowd favorite.  they were in it like 3 minutes before some bigger kids came and ruined their precious field trip.  honestly, they weren't too upset.  aiden calls this the "monkey trampoline".  it had a king kong guy on top.

 their first ride in a big school bus. em was thrilled. aiden was too, just not about daddy pointing the camera at him.

crazy men falling from the sky.

 snack time under the tail of the plane. it was kinda hot and the shade was awesome.  i carried the backpack from 10am-1pm and my shirt was so wet after that.

this is my favorite shot of the whole day.  the 3 of them came out so crisp...

 the thunderbirds.  justin wanted to see them fly at 2.  unfortunately we left before then.  however, they had to re-schedule their flight for tomorrow due to the rain.

the cars were lined up behind us and all down rock road. it took 30 minutes for us to get from pawnee and rock to the parking lot...a trip that would've normally taken a whole 3.4 seconds to drive the 3 blocks away.

i thought i was gonna have to use deadly force when they told me i couldn't take my backpack in. luckily they allow diaper bags,

and since the boy is potty training...

however, when i asked if they needed to take my pepper spray,
they said no one ever mentioned pepper spray not being allowed.
obviously they've never been sprayed with the junk.

whatever. 

star of the week.

meet ready raccoon.

emily was picked to be the

'star of the week'

at school this week.

so she got to take home the

class mascot, ready.

he came with a journal for us to

record what ready did with us

while he was here,

a movie for the kids to watch,

and a book called

the kissing hand.

friday, we taught ready

how to climb a tree.

 ready got to swing with emily and aiden.

emily loves him.

i think she may not want to

give him back on monday.

besides bringing ready home,

she also gets to bring show n tell

all next week and a special treat

to school on wednesday.

she's a tad excited. :)

she's already told us that ariel

is going to school with her.

haha.

well earned.

did you know that i use to sell tupperware??

that little fact might surprise people.

however, i hated it.

not the selling part or the merchandise.

i loved that.

it was the part where people only looked out for

themselves.

i love to be able to give things to people.

just because.

taking photos was something that i have

always loved to do.

since i've started,

i've found some other amazing photographers

that not only are great at what they do,

but are great at being kind to others.

people that i respect.

a lot.

and while there's probably not a person around

that understands how badly

i don't want to make money,

i know that these 3 are doing what they can to

help me reach that goal. :)

that being said,

i wanted to take some time and thank them

and give them a little shameless advertising.

this weekend,

sarah allowed me to shoot her daughter

for the alice in wonderland shoot.

such a doll.

let me just say,

it's not always an easy thing to let

another photographer take over,

so thank you sarah for that opportunity.

i found jackie a few years ago via my college

bff, andrew.

we were lucky to have jackie shoot christmas photos

for us during her first year in wichita.

we LOVE her.

she's really given me some great advice

about photography and equipment,

and never once has she made me

feel like she didn't have time for me.

i really believe that that (and word of mouth)

is why she has become so successful in

the wichita area.

last, but not least--

eric frank.

eric is by far the most artistic photographer

that i have met.

he was my photography teacher this summer,

so you may already be aware of who he is.

no matter how many e-mails or facebook comments

i send him,

he never tells me i'm annoying.

i like that.

haha.

eric is a self-taught photographer and the

king of photoshop.

to prove my point,

these are his boys...with tattoos.

obviously they aren't real.

he's well known for his headshots--

he even did shots this summer

for one of the guys on 'the bachelorette'.

(fyi--his shots are a bit risque for some eyes to view...)

my favorite works of his are the fireworks shots

over exploration place here in wichita

and his new york city shot.

yesterday, i got to enjoy some girl time

at ashley's baby shower.

3 more weeks until they welcome

their little boy into the world.

amber, ash and janice.

the girls put the shower together for ash.

they did a great job.

(on a side note, i really think janice looks like sara evans. :))

i love that you can see her mom and sister's

faces in the mirror. :)

amber wanted me to be in photos, too.

i just had to take one with her and her mom. :)
