Visiting Grandparents..Best Two Days Ever!!

To go along with the last post, here are pictures from our visit with Granny and Papa on Sunday. Aiden got his hair cut by Papa(it'd been 5 wks!), so it was fun and traumatic all at the same time. Emily gets concerned about him when he gets upset. Aiden is going to be a rocker for Halloween...simple, cheap, and no bulky costume...so he got the sides of his hair cut short and the top was left long. He has wonderful spikey hair now.

Emily, Aiden and I visited my parents yesterday and of course the first thing Em wants to do is play the piano! Here are her video performances of Jesus Loves Me, the counting song..that never ends!...and her instrumental solo(we tried to get her to sing Row, Row Your Boat about 6 times before finally giving up). Aiden was taking a nap at the time, so he didn't get to be in on the action. He sang lots of songs for Grandma with the Muppet Show, though. My sister passed on a Muppet Show video with Elton John, Julie Andrews and Gene Kelly(Gene Telly, as Emily says). Emily told my mom, "Mimi loves Elton John and Julie Andrews. And Gene Telly. And Pool Simon(that's Paul Simon). And LUKE SKYWALKER!!!" Oh, boy.

"I Not Going On Da Bear Hunt"..."I Scared".

Emily's very favorite thing to do is to visit her grandparents...well, and play music(she does both when we go to Canton). Two Thursday's ago, Em was at Kids Day Inn at Glenn Park and they did "going on a bear hunt"...apparently Emily did not like it! Her teacher, Ms. Becky, said that she just flipped out and got all scared. Since that day, if you ask her about the Bear Hunt she will go into detail about the bear and how you run really fast, and have a flashlight, and climb the tree, and the bear is in the "cage" (instead of cave)...she talked to my mom on the phone that same day and told her about it for 10 minutes!! Carpet, Cleaning, and Children

Here is my chocolate brown "W" for Whyte...one of the things bought in Missouri. I hadn't been able to find one here, so we got one there..at Hobby Lobby...a store we have here!! I have the best sister-in-law ever, I promise!! THANKS HEIDI!!!

So. Still remodeling. We pulled out the rest of the carpet last Saturday. Emily worked so hard to pull it out(more cheap labor)! :) Justin pulled a little too hard and went tumbling backwards. HA HA. Here are the before and after pics of the carpet chaos. We track that darn grey felt that was under the carpet all over the house!

Aiden has been working on saying "cheese" this week. It comes at a great time. We are taking family pics in a couple of weeks.

Pull, Emily, pull!!!

Aiden was doing a good job of staying out of the way. We had to buckle him in, otherwise he would have been everywhere!

On Wednesday, we took an early morning trip up to Abilene(that's KS) to see my sister, Mary Anne. Her husband will be starting a new job here in Wichita the first week of November, and they are in the process of selling their house. The poor house looked like a tornado had hit it...boxes everywhere, appliances shoved here and there, cleaning supplies around every corner, no doors on the kitchen cabinets...we joked the last time I was there about them not being there and how it's such a safe zone for toddlers. :) We spent the day cleaning, sorting toys, boxing items in the pantry, and all morning telling the kids to go play. Thankfully, Aiden took a long nap and Emily found a kids keyboard to play with(she is obsessed with playing instruments, whether real or pretend ones). By the end of the afternoon, we had the appliances back in place(aside from the fridge), floors swept, things tidied up and boxes in the storage unit. Whew. After that day, I would say hiring a mover is a great idea! :) My sister had lots of toys to send home with me for the kids to play with(and some that we are selling at the consignment sale), so they have been putting them to good use. I CANNOT WAIT TIL MY SISTER MOVES BACK!!!

Ah, Emily. Today I finally got to braid her hair. I wonder how in the world my mom let me keep my hair, as squirmy as I was. Lucky me, Little Susie doesn't stay still, either. I'm not telling my mom that, though. :)

A Child in Bear's Clothing

Now you would think that she is just playing dress-up...that is until you see the next picture.

The poor bear had his clothes stolen. I've seen kids take hats and purses from their dolls and use them, but never their CLOTHES!! :)

At the Whyte House

I realized today that most people haven't even seen our house before, so here is a picture. We decided with all of the mumbo jumbo going on with the market and everything, that it would be in our best interest to stay put for a while. Now we are looking into buying ear plugs during race car season and putting in speed bumps on our street. :) ****** Aiden is such a little busy body. He loves to torment his sister and take her cups from her kitchen, which of course means that she is going to scream and chase after him. He loves it. I hate it. Our favorite time of the day with him is bedtime. I'm sure you're laughing and saying, "I BET!!!" Bedtime is my favorite because he is such a lovey little boy during that time. Every night I ask him if he's tired and needs to go nigh-night. He nods his head and heads to his room. EVERYTIME! It is so cute. Then we tell him to give sister a kiss, which they both lovingly do, and she says "night dood". Then he waves to her, gives me a kiss and dad, if he's home, and waves good night to us. We put him in his bed and he lays down on his pillow. And that's it! ****** Emily loves to be outside when it's windy, but when she can't, she'll settle for the fan any day! ******* "Whoa! It's blowing my hair, mom!!"

"Mimi Pay in the Backyard, MOM!!!" (just how she says it!)

One of Emily's favorite things to do is to go out in the backyard and run around. She likes to run to Callie's kennel and have her lick her hand or march around the yard singing a song from Piglet's Big Movie( if you haven't heard, she is OBSESSED with Winnie the Pooh...especially Lumpy the Heffalump and Roo). She gets a big stick and marches singing the expedition song or runs with her arms out and pretends she's an airplane. Both, we do together. She gets very excited to just be out of the HOUSE!!!

A Day at the Pumpkin Patch Farm

Yesterday Justin had a personal holiday to use for work, so he took the day off. We went to Augusta and visited Applejack Pumpkin Patch(and Farm). The kids had so much fun! They saw baby goats and pigs and even llamas(or mamas, as Emily says)!

They were able to play on swings, ride a "train", get on the hayrack ride, and pick out pumpkins.
