whyte house mega road trip: days 1-3

day 1: travel to kearney, ne

our first family road trip started with a 6 hour trip
to kearney, ne.
one of justin's best friends from high school lives in
kearney, with his wife, robyn, and brand new baby girl,
ashley.

she's one of the reasons we decided to drive and not fly straight to washington.

casey introduced us to kearney's awesome playground/fishing park.
just what the kids needed.  casey and justin, too.

casey got a shot of us...it was a tad windy in nebraska.

day 2: kearney, ne to west jordan, ut...almost an 11 hour drive.

we left casey's house around 5:30am and started our
first long drive of the trip to west jordan, utah to visit
my best friend from college, jen millgate.

we passed by lots of deer and turkey in nebraska.  wyoming was very cold and windy!

first mc donald's stop of the trip.  i now hate mc donald's. haha.

view of wyoming through my windshield.

bless the creators of 'little america', a truck/family rest stop in wyoming.  best place ever.

we ended day 2 of driving at 7:30 pm, mountain time.  jen's house, 30 minutes from salt lake, was surrounded by snowy mountains.

day 3: west jordan, utah

the visit to utah was a big deal for me.

jen and i did everything together in college, but with 16 hours between us, we haven't been able to see each other in 10 years.

it was a great 10 yr. reunion.

going on a walk with jen.
i told jen she really had a rough life.  i'd hate to wake up to those views everyday. :)

the kids with macee, will and aubree.

i had forgotten that they recently added in & out in her town.
justin loved that surprise.

jungle jim's indoor playland.

we need one of those here.

they have a four wheeler...
another first for the kids.

another shot from jen.

so glad we were able to come see you, friend!!
miss you lots!

On another note, the pictures of your family, friends and the Utah landscape are beautiful!
