'operation awesome weekend' was a success.
(after the dehart's parked in the right driveway...
she had our neighbors address in her book--haha!)
here are some of the fun photos from the weekend.
we ate dinner at stroud's.
not the place for squirrelly kids.
i'm sure people were staring at leslie and i.
we kept busting out our big 'ol cameras.
jen's kids were perfect little angels.
of course they were too tired to move,
but hey...still perfect.
they'd spent the day outside in their inflatable pool.
grant and justin always crack us up.
they are like bff's when we hang out.
below, justin is impersonating emily's whiney face.
haha.
there's a buffalo statue outside at stroud's.
not sure if you're suppose to get on it,
but we needed to entertain some kids!
oh, that cole.
he always hides when i try to take a photo of him.
this time he peered around grant,
ever so slightly.
so cute.
the girls went out to on the border for a late bite.
blasted leslie's ice cream was screaming at me.
don't look directly at it!
the waittress took a pic of us.
as you can see,
i didn't adjust the settings after taking food shots,
so i'm focused and the other two...not so much.
jen and i learned a few things:
1. presents must always include chocolate(thanks gwen and leslie!)
2. late late is the time to go to on the border cause you get discounts.
3. talking in the parking lot for an hour is not cool....
especially since i had photos in the morning.
i got home after midnight.
i'm not pleasant early in the morning.
i also learned that i am avoiding the park until fall,
when it gets cold and kills all the blasted mosquitos.
those suckers had invaded swanson park and we could barely sit still long enough
to take some photos.
we hit delano, instead.
(jen wasn't feeling well, so she missed all the humid fun)
i managed to get a few shots of my kids, too.
emily's flower is courtesy of 'brag bling and bows'
by dina ross.
go to etsy.com and type in dinaross09,
clicking on 'sellers'.
she lives here in town.
love her.
i cannot believe i ever forgot what aiden was like at 2.
little emily was a spittin' image of 2 yr. personality that aiden had.
i got some great shots of her on this ledge.
apparently there are people that lived in the buildings behind,
and their dog came out to greet us....above her head,
on the roof.
it was great.
we visited the warren parking garage and took this shot
of leslie and scott.
they were so fun to shoot.
leslie and i took turns taking pics of each
others family.
lots of fun.
the kids tried to keep themselves occupied while they waited.
water puddles were a big hit.
it had JUST rained.
so emily and aiden were at the rails yelling out,
"let. us. out!
if you're not going to let us out,
then i'm going to give you a spankin'!"
once photos were done,
we headed to lunch.
leslie had asked for some sugar sisters.
they were closed.
the nerve of them.
so we went down the street to a wichita fave,
nu way.
we enjoyed our lunch,
said good-bye to our friends and sent them in the direction
of the mall(um, only he drove the opposite way and i had to text and prompt
him to take his 'other left' out of the parking area. :)).
little emily wanted to play at the kid zone area.
she knows what you do at a mall!!
haha.
good thing they just put one in here!
thanks, dehart family for the awesome weekend!!!
