officially 5.

officially 5.
on her way to 15.
did not want to get out of bed. :)

once she did, she was very excited to see signs for her birthday around the house.

birthday treats at school.

the kids were singing their prayer...it was too precious.
(to the tune of "where is thumbkin")
their song prayer goes,
"God our Father
God our Father
once again
once again
we have come to thank You
we have come to thank You
amen
amen.

when emily was sick, her "girl voice", as she calls it, was gone and her voice would completely crack all over the place when she'd try to sing that song at dinner. very hard to keep from laughing while your child's voice cracks. :)

sawyer and emily walking in the parking lot together.
jus and i picked up sawyer from class today, since dina had aiden with her so we could attend emily's party.
i always ask the girls to hold hands to be safe in the lot. :)
they were way too cute.

a photo shoot to commence year 5.

can i just say that emily is very particular about her clothes?  she hates jeans.  loathes them. the adjustable tabs hurt her.  she'd rather wear tights or leggings.  she usually cries for a good 20 minutes on the days that i make her wear jeans to school.  on those days, all of the tights and leggings are dirty and i have no choice, but to make her suffer.  i may be able to talk her into doing her own laundry this way, though.  don't want to wear jeans??  better go wash your clothes. ooooh, i like that!
anyway, i picked out the skirt.  that was it.  as soon as i got out the skirt, she called dibs on those tights.  and then the boots.  oh, i did pick the shirt, but only due to the fact that her new one is too small.  i was so mad.  she also had to wear her scarf from aunt katie.  "it's to keep me warm, mom".  haha.  fine with me.

this is her best pal, ellie the elephant.  ellie was purchased when she was about 2.  ellie keeps her safe at night and goes on road trips with us, whether to missouri or just an hour away to my mom's.  she wanted to bring her along for her 5 year old photos.  she's pretty much part of the family.

emily's told me a few times now that she wants to be a photographer when she grows up.  oh, and she's also mentioned being 'housekeeping'.  finally. the girl understands that i need a maid and wants to contribute!

cinderella's gang came along with us, too.

dinner of her choosing...
mcdonald's.
and we had to eat THERE. :)

christmas lights after dinner.

through the rearview mirror.

we didn't do cake or anything, seeing as how she had 3 parties already!!  i only gave her one present: a mixed tape.
well, a mixed cd.  it had music from enchanted(she sings it all stinkin' day long even before the cd came), cheetah girls 2, a couple of clean hannah montana songs, and her favorite songs by leeland and britt nicole.  with all the thumping going on upstairs from she and aiden jumping around dancing with justin earlier, i'd say she likes it. :)

tomorrow the kids are being surprised with a movie day...
tangled.  i heart the department's free movie days. :)
