4th of july.

a very rainy 4th of july in wichita.

afternoon spent painting in the garage.

(excuse the photos...it was so muggy out, my lens was fogging up!)

i had found a huge mirror a few weeks ago at the antique store.

i primed it, sprayed it brown, hand painted in the details with some black paint

 and then roughed it up with sandpaper.

it's ready to hang.

i wanted to repaint it,

since it was gold,

but i didn't want it to look super new.

i'm hanging a crate for towels on the wall next to it and it needed

to all go together.

spent the evening at my sister's house.

everybody had to play dress-up while we were there.

and my sister had her annual water balloon fight.

she kept trying to get me wet,

but thankfully her friend linda came to my rescue! :)

thanks, linda!!

emily got justin wet...

so he got her back.

they tried to beg for more balloons,

but were sent to clean up instead.

on the 1st was alyssa's 7th birthday.

tons of maize high kids live on their block.

they were out in full force shooting off fireworks.

the boys a few houses down had a roman candle war.

it was pretty hilarious.

my sister's dad and stepmom hung out for a bit,

but soon there was just too much action for them. :)
