i don't know why we call it "going for a walk".
it's more like "going for a sprint".
seriously.
look how far away they are!
that's even shot with my 50mm,
that should make them seem closer.
the temp dropped dramatically yesterday.
high of 83.
it's gonna be the same temp here as it is in
tacoma, washington(says GMA this morning).
love it.
the kids like being outside more,
but the drastic weather change messes with
their little bodies.
they've been coughing a lot in the mornings.
great.
soon we'll be trading out those shorts and flip flops
for jeans and tennis shoes.
and one week from today i will have a pre-k'er in my house!!
i am so excited about it,
i can hardly stand it!!!
all of my friends have been sending their kids to
school lately.
some in kindergarten,
some older.
everyone talks about how they had to jet from the
school to cry,
or lost it packing their kids lunch or book bag.
i am ready for school.
it's going to be amazing.
emily has been ready for 2 years.
i've been ready for her to hit pre-k since she was born!!
this is my favorite age!!
i spent 4 years teaching pre-k...
seeing the kids on the first day in my class,
watching them grow throughout the year.
it's like magic.
i am ecstatic to hear about all that she
learns in her new school.
to see her take on new tasks by herself.
to have someone teach her the things that i've been
trying to teach her that she
is so stubbornly ignoring!!
i'm so ready for it.
for the interaction with kids her age.
for the hands on learning.
for someone to give her chicken pox,
so she won't be like her 26 yr old aunt
who has never had it and runs and hides
when someone says "chicken pox". :)
for the dramatic play center,
though i don't know if anyone there has a clue
what they're in for when emily and drama collide.
for the time-outs that are sure to come
after they enter her world of sassy dramatic play.
haha.
i am very happy about where i'm sending her
and her teacher...especially.
her teacher, cathie chaffin,
had her own girls at my house when they were
little.
my mom babysat them during the week.
now cathie is watching my girl.
i love it.

I am SO JEALOUS that Emily gets Mrs. Chaffin! Tuck had her last year as an assistant teacher with Mrs. Bolan. She is wonderful! I was so wishing Sawyer would get her this year... she's in Mrs. Wright's class. I've heard good things about her too, I was just really hoping for Chaffin:-)
i was hoping for mrs. wright if she didn't get cathie! :)
