Fisher-De La Torre Weekend

Our summer of weddings continued this weekend with wedding #3, Ashley Fisher. All of the festivities started on Thursday night with the Lingerie Shower at the Fisher home. As you can see, Ashley and Amber had a great time laughing together! :) We played a little charades and a getting to know you game, opened some lovely presents(none pictured for obvious reasons!) and did A LOT of laughing together. The "Ashber" in full effect. As Amber explained in her toast at the wedding, the girls were given that nickname in high school by their friends because where Ashley was, Amber was. We still call them that.

The rehearsal was a great time to meet everyone involved in the wedding and learn a little spanish! Sequius can speak English, but his family does not. So they had a translator there to interpret all of the rehearsal.
Mr. and Mrs. Sequius De La Torre! They had soooo much music in the wedding!! It was like a wedding and a concert! Ashley walked down the isle to a Christian song called "Amazed". It was AMAZING!!! When she came in, Amber(the maid of honor) was in tears, I was in tears, and I think even Justin(the "head usher") teared up! It was just gorgeous and very original. Justin and I had been talking to Emily about the "pretty lady's" wedding and she wanted to go see her get married with us. Unfortunately "the Sassinator" was in rare form. She enjoyed seeing Ashley in her princess dress, but sat and colored on a program throughout the wedding, not forgetting to make a distracting noise here and there. My absolute favorite moment of the wedding was communion time. The couple took communion and lit their candle to a song by one of my favorite artists, Jennifer Knapp, called "Hallowed". The girl who sang it, Monica, had the perfect range for the song. It may have been better than Jennifer Knapp herself. It gave me goosebumps. I need to have a CD of her singing it to share with the world! At the end of the wedding, Ashley's uncle and her brother, Aaron played trumpets(which scared Emily...2nd best part of the day! :) ). As soon as the parents were escorted out, Emily and I jetted out of the ceremony and over to Papa and Granny's house where Aiden was already hanging out. The kids spent the night with them so we could hang out with the gang for the night.
Amber and Justin G.~ the boxes on the table were empty...for the bar...they had a candy bar with M&M's, taffy, Runts, chocolates, Skittles, and the most important(as Jared pointed out) KitKats. :) They also had a taco bar for dinner catered by La Mesa. Katie didn't get to be a rebel and cut in line this time!
Katie and Justin(with his "head usher" trademark gold tie) enjoying some birthday cake. It was nice to sit and joke around together. All of Justin's high school friends will be together once again Labor Day weekend. We will all be at Amber and Justin G.'s wedding in Kansas City that weekend. EVERYONE...Katie, Ashley, Amber, Justin AND Casey...together again! We are excited to see Casey and his beautiful new bride, Robyn, again in KC.
Sequius and Ashley doing the Salsa as their first dance.
THE BEST MOM...Kris Dungey, Amber's mom, got to hang out with us for the night. She was a blast!
I'm with the...well, not the DJ...
Mr. and Mrs. Photogenic...Jared and Katie Campbell
My favorite picture of the night....
Farewell to the bride and groom with sparklers!
Watching the fireworks...Mr. and Mrs., Ashley's dad(left) and her mom, Sequius sister-in-law and brother(behind him) and his mom.
By the end of the weekend, we met a lot of really cool friends and family. Hope to see them all again soon!! Congrats Ashley and Sequius!!!!
