happy 4th birthday, emily!!!

today we celebrated emily's 4th birthday. for real. today is the actual day. her birthday is like the '12 days of christmas'...unreal. she picked to have b-day lunch at wendy's.
the kids made a friend. this is katelynn. i have no idea if that's how it's spelled(i hate spelling people's names wrong), but my kaitlynn(okay, natalie's) doesn't spell hers that way, so she gets that version. katelynn is 18 mos. and such a sweet little girl. the kids would say "hi, baby" to her every 5 seconds. took forever to get through lunch.
after they made it through lunch, we took a trip to target to finish christmas shopping. and to also run into katelynn, again. :) she and emily got to hang out for a bit, playing with emily's christmas present(unbeknownst to her, of course--she was getting it for aiden :)).
first thing in the a.m., emily opened her birthday box. high school musical 2, a micro bag of popcorn to enjoy with it and tinkerbell underwear were waiting for her. ah, that beaming face. she got a postcard yesterday from the early childhood director saying "happy birthday" and all...and tells me, "this is the best birthday ever, mom!" i'm so glad.
the finished product. had to go with different photos cause the 3 cousins b&w shot didn't come out right. last time i send justin to wal-mart to make prints. he printed one that had half of aj's head cut off and said, "this is how it showed it on the screen". unfortunately he doesn't know you can go in and edit that stuff. oh, well. my mom will like it anyway(she says in a low grumbling voice...).
these(above) are going on this(below).
this was a blank 5x7 artist canvas(my trial). i painted the sides and glued on an old page from a dr seuss book called "the sleep book". the book was falling apart, but i thought it was too cute to waste. i think this one will have the red letters at the bottom and say "READ" on it. i'm too indecisive. i'm doing another one where the characters are all asleep in the picture and it will say "SLEEP" on it. it's for my baby nephew's bedroom.
