thank you.

i'm the wife of a sailor.
however, i am terrible at being patriotic.
really bad.

i'd rather buy stuff from UK etsy sellers than U.S.
(okay...that's really just 'cause i like getting
international mail, but still).

i chose a Canadian photographer to do our photos
when we go to Washington.

and i don't vote during elections.

i have voted.

it's just that the last time i did,
we got stuck with the guy i really didn't want.
i'm a bad loser. :)
(dramatic pause for boo's, hisses and stone throwing)

you can feel free to ask/scold me about all of the above.
i can take it.

anyway...
i thought i should dutifully post a thank you to the veterans.

to my husband,
thank you.

i know you make a ton of sacrifices,
but i also know that you love what you do.

thank you to all of the navy kids serving with my husband. you're like our extended family and we love you.

thank you to our good friend, "uncle jason strunk"(as the kids say), for having my husband's back.

you mean a lot to this family.

thank you to my brother-in-law, my late father, and my friends for your service.

(my dad at marine boot camp- 1946)

thank you to my very good friends that still frequent the desert--you continue to amaze us at what you do for a living.

thank you to the families waiting at home.

thank you to the wives at home manning the fort.

as well as my online friends, the military blog wives:

thank you ladies for the support, meltdown stories, and distractions you provide me when my husband is away!
a big thank you to all of your husbands for their willingness to serve.

thank you to the kids who are home missing their daddy's while they're gone.
though you rarely understand what's going on...

thank you for loving your daddy's so much!!

thank you to our non-military friends, as well.
for your prayers, for your concerned messages,
for your love, and for your forgiveness when we complain about military issues.

we love you and are so grateful for all of you.

thank you to the veterans that have been injured and have endured so much for us.  we do not forget your sacrifices, either.

be sure to check out household 6 diva's linky list of veteran's day tributes and say thank you.
