i'm finally getting into christmas. justin told me last night that he wanted to decorate the tree tonight after drill. as much as i don't want to decorate it now and have to take it all down in 17 days or so, i caved. his disappointed face when i told him that made me decide to drag all of the boxes of ornaments up the stairs and get to decorating. the kids have already received the "ornaments are to look at, not touch". despite that, my millenium falcon ornament has already been the first victim of child neglect. thankfully, the batteries just popped out and nothing more. in my next house, i have decided that i will have my own room. a place to do all of my wrapping in, photo work in, anything requiring the use of scissors or other objects capable of doing bodily harm to a child. emily and aiden are coloring a stocking gift...that they pulled out of my pile of "stuff". so mad. at least they like them. i think i'm mostly mad cause now their stockings won't be full. i don't like to wake up christmas morning with 2 small things in the stockings. they have to be protruding out the top with stuff. whatever. i give up. i am almost done shopping. i just got my nephew conner's gift yesterday...and since he reads my "website", i'm not saying what i got. just that it is sooo conner. there are about 4 gifts left to wrap, and 4 that i ordered and am waiting for ups to deliver. one being my own christmas present. :) maybe that's weird to some people that i buy my own gift, especially since it was like $10, but my husband isn't known as the "best buyer in the world". he picks out good stuff and all, sure. he was responsible for buying me 4 season's of friends dvd's one year. perfect. however, the christmas we had emily, i had bought him a ps2. he was working, just gotten back in the navy that spring, and working part-time. i knew he needed something to do that would be relaxing. he loved it.
granted he never has time to play it now, but still.
i, however, opened my big present to reveal a nice keychain size of police issued pepper spray.
that's right. pepper spray.
having just had our first child 2 weeks prior, i of course cried.
a lot.
so that being said, i pick out my own gifts from time to time. not always. i over hinted this year and found the item for $5. since he wasn't able to find it in the store, i bought it myself. hardly a big deal.
he was trying to be sneaky last night and said he pulled out a certain amount of money. i called the bank to see what had gone through our account. of course it told me he took out more than he had said. he just doesn't understand that i am the better detective. we joke that whenever he gets on as detective, he will be bringing his work home for me to help him with. ha ha.
i am uploading photos of the whyte house christmas scene, so they will be up soon.

This post totally made me laugh out loud!!! I think Justin and Sean are related...Seriously! After knowing Sean for 15 years now, I have given up on the idea that I will EVER get a nice present. In fact, I have finally come to realize that I need to embrace it and just laugh, because one day when I am old and gray, I might just cherish all the corney, stupid, gifts.

So, I am SOOOOO excited about the microwave popcorn popper my husband bought me this year (Um, hello? We already have an air popper not to mention they make popcorn in bags that go straight to the microwave.) I just can't wait to try that darn thing out! HA HA HA HA
