New to the Whyte Family
Introducing the newest member of the Whyte family(Tim and Rena's, that is): Ila(ee-la, meaning blemish or with birthmark) Rafiki(like the monkey on Lion King, meaning friend). He is an 11 week old rhodesian ridgeback(the last pic shows his ridge on his back very well) and the cutest little guy ever. We actually met him his first day in here on Monday after Justin's swearing in bit. I know Heidi and the kids wanted to see him, so here he is guys!! Karsten and Chloe, you can terrorize him in just a couple of weeks!! :)
For those of you who didn't know, Tim and Rena(the in-laws)had another rhodesian, T-bone, for about 9 years. T had liver failure this last year and had to be put down. Rhodesians were originally known to be African hunting dogs, hunting lions. As Tim jokes, there are no lions nearby, so they work great. They have a long ridge of hair on their back that grows the opposite direction. Ila's has an extra swirl in it, or blemish, so he could not become a show dog. His dad's name is even Mufasa(head lion on the Lion King), which cracks me up. :) Here's the new little one.
This Christmas will be weird without having T or our beagle Abby with us, but a first Christmas with Ila and our "new" 8 yr old beagle, Charly.
